History
Founded in 1954 as Wall's Livestock Supply, Walco International, Inc. began as an offshoot of a family-owned drug store business which also supplied veterinary products to its customers. Over the years, Mr. Willard Wall had acquired ownership or controlling interests in various smaller distributors which were merged with the family business to form Walco in 1972. Holt boasted an extensive history in the animal health industry before being acquired by Walco International, Inc. Walco itself was first purchased in 1997 and eventually went public as Animal Health International, Inc., in 2007.
